It’s finally time for another Lazy Sunday post! This has been quite the busy month for me in regards to reading, watching and listening. Can’t wait to share with you!
Books to Read
I’ve been hearing so much about Rachel Hollis’ Girl, Wash Your Face that I decided to add it to my TBR list. I definitely enjoyed it, and think it’s a solid read with some amazing, encouraging, inspirational moments. However, I think a friend of mine put it best about this book. “It’s a book about things I’ve already learned. Would it have been great when I was 18? Yes. Absolutely. But now, I’m not sure how much I learned from it.”
Don’t get me wrong. I read this book in just two weeks in the middle of editing and finalizing and a million other things. So it definitely captured my attention. But I think there’s validity to what my friend had to say. It’s very much a book of don’t think these things about yourself. Valuable? Yes. Necessary to hear now that I’m in my 30s? Meh.
Now, if you’re looking for an interesting read of the romance variety, I highly encourage you to check out As Dust Dances by Samantha Young. Hoo, boy. There are only a handful of books in my extensive catalogue of romance reads over the past five years that have created a literal pinching, uncomfortable sensation in my chest because I’m so emotionally connected to the characters. That’s what I felt with Skylar and Killian.
This is a highly recommend from me. Definitely. 100%. The first book in the series, Play On, is also phenomenal. So just make a day out of it and binge two books. You can do it!
Shows to Watch
I can’t even believe that I’m admitting this, but I have several shows to encourage you to take a look at this month. Because part of my editing process is to break up the day with TV so I don’t get bored.

First, let me be clear that I am mortified at the fact that it has taken me this long to get around to watching this show. GOOD LORD is it amazing. I was hanging out with my neighborhood girlfriends and one of the women was raving about it. So I thought, why not give it a shot.
I’m hooked. My husband is hooked. We’ve already watched an entire season. Claire and Jamie are such an amazing couple. You don’t even really have to be into anything historical in order to enjoy it. Get on this right now!

Between grad school and when we moved to New Zealand, my husband and I watched 23 seasons of the Amazing Race. Yeah. I know. Crazy. It was over several years and we just loved it so much. But moving abroad makes it hard to watch things because of geographical limitations. We just got back into watching this show (we are now on season 26) and I forgot how much I loved it.
Hubby and I think we would do great on this show and might apply at some point. We’ll see. But if you love rooting people on and cheering for assholes to fail, you’ll love this!
Music to Jam

In complete honesty, I first heard Jain’s Makeba on a Levi’s commercial. And I just could NOT stop shaking my ass. Please, please check her out. At least this one song. Totally worth the three minutes.
You’ve probably already been hearing this song everywhere, but Billie Eillish’s Bury a Friend is also quite the smash hit. For me, it’s a perfect walking pace and I spend my afternoons strutting down the path as I exercise. Check it!
My Lazy Sunday
Today is actually my birthday! I’m turning 32 and I am so thrilled to be spending the day with friends. I actually don’t know what the plans are, because my husband has been coordinating with my lady friends to plan something for me. Who knows what the day will bring!? Can’t wait!
I think that’s a wrap from me! But I’m always looking for new things to read, watch and listen to. Help me out, and drop a fav in the comments.
