The past week has been nothing but excitement in the Liota house. We closed on a house in Georgia, our current home is wrapping up a new porch and paint job, my new website and logo are live, I’ve been working on a secret multi-author project that will be shared later this month, my first ever book box is doing so well, AND I’ve finally posted a few of my confirmed book signings for 2022 on my Events page!
But the news I am the most excited to share is something I’ve been dreaming about for (literally) years. YEARS!
My husband and I are starting a podcast!
For those of you who don’t know, my husband’s name is Danny and he is my best damn friend in the world. I don’t know how we lucked out with each other when we are both so far from perfect, but we did, and we just recently celebrated 10 years of wedded bliss. And that is no bullshit. I mean BLISS.
Over the years, we’ve received many comments from friends and family and sometimes even strangers about our love and life together and the depth of our connection. The way we take care of each other and constantly look for opportunities to make each other happy. These people use the terms #marriagegoals and #relationshipgoals and say things like “I want that kind of relationship someday.” It’s incredibly flattering, first of all. So thank you to anyone who has ever had a kind word.
But more than flattering, it feels like a call to action. Something about the way that Danny and I operate and function as partners and best friends and lovers has been some sort of beacon to other romantics, and we don’t take that lightly. It’s why we’re careful with our romantic advice when asked, why we share both the ups and the downs.
On top of all of this, I’ve regularly referenced the fact that I use my relationship and my husband as the inspiration for the romantic heroes that I’ve created over the years. So many of my steamy hunks are rooted in real conversations and experiences my husband and I have shared.
So… the podcast.
We’re going to take all our love and experience, and mix it up in a tumbler with the world I live in every day as an author – Romancelandia. It will be equal parts serious and silly, love and laughter, the novelty of love and novels about love. And I can’t wait for all of you to get this peek behind the curtain of our lives.
Fair warning: my husband is all about the dad jokes, so expect a fair few as we discuss genre tropes and answer reader-submitted questions and share our personal experiences with romance.
For now, if you’d like to receive an email once our first episode goes live, check out the Married to Romance website and pop your name in the newsletter box. You can also submit topics or questions for discussion if you have something pressing. If you’d like to help us build our online community, make sure to check us out on Facebook and Instagram as well.
Episodes will be going live in late 2021!! See you then!
